Franklin New Jersey

Later this spring Sussex County Habitat for Humanity Sussex County will begin the process of tearing down the home at 25 Susquehanna St, Franklin, NJ that currently is tenantless and run down.

The homes built by Sussex County Habitat for Humanity are for people who wouldn't traditionally qualify for a conventional mortgage with the housing market conditions that exist today. Many are forced into substandard housing. There is a misconception that the program is geared towards families whose incomes are at the poverty level. Instead the county chapter carefully selects a family based on a multitude of factors. These families are then nurtured and educated on home ownership. SCHfH sells homes to families who also invest sweat equity to build their own homes and many often go on to help others.

SCHfH is excited to announce on March 2nd a family was selected.  The work at 25 Susquehanna St will soon begin.
